Introducing The Running Residency Program
Giving Israeli Amputees the Tools and Training to Run Again
Over one transformative month, January 2025, participants will receive custom running prosthetics and elite coaching, creating a future where running becomes a symbol of freedom and possibility and forever changing the athletic landscape for Israeli Amputees.
What is the Running Residency Program?
Across the world, running isn’t just a sport for amputees—it’s a gateway to independence and self-empowerment. In Israel, however, support and access to expert training is almost nonexistent.
The Next Step's Running Residency Program is changing that
Over one transformative month, participants will receive custom running prosthetics and elite coaching, creating a future where running becomes a symbol of freedom and possibility.

Meet Our Runners

Saar Amikam, 28
Growing up in Moshav Udim, Saar’s life changed forever at the age of 11 when a tragic car accident resulted in the loss of his leg. Despite the challenges, Saar has embraced life with resilience and determination. Now living in Tel Aviv, he’s ready to inspire others by proving that physical limitations don’t define potential.

Koral Vedder, 29
A cancer survivor and future pediatrician, Koral’s journey began with an above-knee amputation at the age of 13 after battling bone cancer. Despite immense challenges, she volunteered in the army, completed medical school, and is about to begin her residency in pediatrics. Koral embodies perseverance and is excited to push her limits through running.

Gal Gome, 31
Gal’s life was transformed by a military service injury that left him in constant pain for years. After enduring endless surgeries and rehabilitation attempts, he chose amputation in 2021 as a path to a new life. That decision became the happiest day of his life. Today, Gal is a passionate athlete who inspires others to embrace life’s possibilities.
Why It Matters
Running empowers amputees worldwide, but in Israel, it’s almost nonexistent due to limited resources. Together, we can break barriers and give amputees the confidence and support they deserve.
