  • No single training model or entity can satisfy all the perceived training needs or achieve all the desired outcomes for missionary effectiveness. Therefore, contributing together as partners will facilitate the most appropriate menu of informed choices for each missionary.

  • Establishing guidelines for competency-based learning provides a guide for creating the appropriate training. This standard also assists the cross-cultural worker in selecting the right training tools at the right time.

  • The scope of training should include appropriate tools for career development at every stage-from pre-candidate exploring to in-service learning on the field.

  • A wide variety of training tools, offered in multiple locations and formats, allows cross-cultural workers to select the appropriate training plan for each stage of their life-long learning. Prior training, as well as life and job experience, should be taken into account in laying out an individual plan.
